What is Math Olympiads?

Math Olympiads is an international program in which students participate in a

series of 5 contests, from late October/early November to March.  The program is designed with

several goals in mind:
* To stimulate enthusiasm and a love for Mathematics

* To introduce important Mathematical concepts

* To teach major strategies for problem solving

* To develop Mathematical flexibility in solving problems

* To strengthen Mathematical intuition

* To foster Mathematical creativity and ingenuity

* To provide for the satisfaction, joy, and thrill of meeting challenges

During weekly meetings our team of m-athletes will be exploring various types of problems that might be encountered during the contests,  practicing specific problem solving strategies, and engaging in innovative problem solving for non-traditional problems.  The math required for this work is at a very high level.  This is not a program designed for extra help in math.     For more information about this program, including sample problems, please visit www.moems.org
